TANKER Foundation

INAUGURATION OF THE NEWLY EXPANDED “Madurai TANKER Subsidized Dialysis Unit ” on Tuesday 25th June 2019 at 2.00 p.m

On 25th June TANKER inaugurated its new expanded dialysis centre in Madurai. Cognizant Foundation and Rotary Club of Madurai came forward to donate Eight Dialysis Machines each.The new unit is located in new space given by the Arogya Welfare Trust and now has 24 dialysis machines.This new unit will provide dialysis to over 130 patients. TANKER Foundation will offer free and subsidised dialysis for underprivileged people suffering from chronic kidney disease.

The Director of Cognizant Foundation, Dr. Ramamurthy, Trustees of Arogya Welfare Trust Mr. Jaganathan, Mr. R. Srinivasan, Mr. Jawahar Babu, Mrs. Selvi Shanthosham, Mr. Haneef Thayub of Rotary Club of Madurai West, Dr. Balamurugan ,Trustees from TANKER Foundationand other dignitaries graced the occasion.

Dr. Georgi Abraham Founder Trustee, TANKER Foundation, welcomed everyone and emphasized the need for medical care for the underprivileged and also the importance of creating awareness among public regarding kidney diseases and precautions to be taken to avoid kidney failure. He spoke of how challenging it is for poor patients to get good treatment for Kidney diseases.

The dignitaries who spoke appreciated the dedicated work and service rendered by TANKER and its staff in helping underprivileged patients. They also promised their continued support to TANKER.

Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami Managing Trustee, TANKER Foundation said that TANKER had started in a small way 25 years ago and now had 105 dialysis machines in their 7 units helping 480 patients and that the new expanded Madurai TANKER Dialysis Unit was a team effort of TANKER, Arogya Welfare Trust, Cognizant Foundation, Rotary Club of Madurai and many more donors and well wishers.

Dr. S. Ramamurthy, Director, Cognizant said that the prime objective of Cognizant Foundation was to reach out to the economically and socially backward sections of society and make a meaningful impact in their lives through institutions/organizations working in the focus areas of Education, Health care and Livelihood.

Mr. Haneef Thayub of Rotary Club of Madurai said that they were happy to contribute to TANKER as he knew of their dedicated work. Mr. Jeganathan, Trustee of Arogya Welfare Trust acknowledged and thanked Ms. Shobhana, for her unstinting support for several projects benefitting the needy. He also thanked Mr. Jawahar Babu for providing the building in such a quiet road making it easy for patients to feel comfortable in reaching and receiving dialysis.

The TANKER Dialysis Unit was inaugurated by Dr. S. Ramamurthy and Mr. Jeganathan of Arogya Welfare Trust. The new Dialysis machines were jointly inaugurated by Mr. Ramamurthy, Director, Cognizant Foundation, Haneef Thayub of Rotary Club of Madurai West and Trustees of Arogya Welfare Trust.
