The Joy of Giving Week is a special week which aims to bring people, from all walks of life, together to get involved with a cause(s) of their choice.
Activities of TANKER Foundation during the Joy of Giving Week September 26 - October 2, 2010:
- Special tea time snacks were distributed for around 700 underprivileged children from the age group of 5 to 15 years from various destitute homes. Seva Samaj at Pallikaranai, Siva Shakti Home at Aalapakkam and Kanchipuram, Sacred Heart School in Paramakeni on ECR Road, Aalayam at Alapakkam and Kakkum Karangal at Thiruvanmiyur.
- Participation in Seva Mela on 26th and 27th of September at Valluvar Kottam - Quiz on Kidneys with lots of prizes given away.
- Participation in the Battle of the Buffet Event (BOB) on 30th September 2010 at Chennai Trade Centre - 177 Dinner Tickets.
- Emails and introduction about organ donation sent out to more than 1 lakh people.
- Overall raised Rs. 21 lakhs through Give India and direct donations during the Joy of Giving Week.
